DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

DIVERSITY IS A FACT

In an era when it is increasingly difficult to find the best talent, and at a time when a host of demographic differences – generational, national, racial, ethnic, gender – characterize our workplaces, organizations need to meet their best talent where they are and allow them to bring their all. How do you do that?

An Inclusive Leadershipstarts with a willingness to communicate, interact, behave, and think differently when interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Unfortunately, most people have never been trained to lead and communicate appropriately and effectively across the various dimensions of diversity.

Wisdom recognizes the importance of equipping college students and employees with the necessary skills to achieve in today’s workforce and his “Diversity & Inclusion” program aimsat preparing them to interact with people from multiple ethnicities, backgrounds, multicultural, multilingual and multifaceted.

In this presentation, Wisdom’s overall objectives are to drive business results by:

  • Enhancing leadership and coaching skills
  • Equipping leaders to deliver more effective coaching and feedback
  • Equipping leaders to continue driving performance and productivity
  • Ensuring leaders meet their current and future business objectives

UNCONSCIOUS BIAS AND STEREOTYPING

Unconscious biases are the result of programmed guidelines and rules that the brain learns based on experience and uses for decisions that may not need—or allow for—deliberate consideration

How do you handle those factors which creep on us consciously or unconsciously? As an individual, what experiences have you had with diversity and how can you create a welcoming environment around you? Employees are often unaware that their unconscious biases and reliance on stereotypes are affecting theiractions because these views are ingrained in our culture. We are prone to like people that are similar to us andto put things into categories so that they are easier tounderstand.

Armed with the knowledge of how unconscious biases, stereotypes and micro-aggressions can lead to discrimination, Wisdom Primus will help the audiences to take the next step and do something to reduce your company’s risks with the following strategies:

  • Sometimes the unconscious preferences that function in autopilot mode in our brains can lead us to poor decisions in business
  • Approaching people in a spirit of advocacy rather than inquiry
  • Conducting lawful hiring, discipline andperformance reviews

Sometimes managing cultural or generational differences can be challenging. Diverse backgrounds and generations among employees can bring unintended misunderstandings and cause bullying, discrimination or harassment.

In this engaging and thought-provoking presentation, Wisdom Primus shares how to address sensitive issues without feeling awkward, guilty, fearful, or uncomfortable. In our ever increasingly-diverse society, there is a strong need for cross-cultural dialogue and diversity programs in businesses and communities. Wisdom is committed to helping organizations in their efforts by promoting diversity initiatives and cross-cultural communication, providing practical tips, and highlighting inclusive practices so everyone can excel and embrace diversity. He addresses cultural biases and helps to build a culture in which employees from diverse backgrounds can effectively collaborate and work together to achieve a common goal.

Participants will leave the session fully prepared to embrace diversity, foster a culture that creates a thriving environment in the company to drive business results
